The Potato

The potato soothes the heart and the mind. When you eat it, you forget not only your enemy’s face, but also that you are unhappily fallen in love.

It is not difficult at all to fry potato pancakes. All you need is love, salt, and songs.

The potato is not easy to grow, because on a hot summer day you must pick Colorado beetles from its blossoms. The potato fields are vast, but after the work you can always bathe in your grandmother’s river.

You can always give the potato for someone in need.

You can give it even to an enemy and thus postpone the greatest wars in the world.

A potato field is like the sea: it will not quench your thirst, but it is beautiful to look at.

The potato’s leaves can become shade for a worm. From them, a ladybug may also take off
and fly to the children.

The potato suits both a jester and a king.

If the one you love throws potatoes at you – it is only out of love.

Always peel more of them, in case a Guest should drop by.

If potatoes grew on the moon, who would weed them? So always plant them on Earth – where you are.
